Frase Topic Score Overview

What is the Frase Topic Score?

  • Frase uses SEO optimization by analyzing content from Google’s top 20 search results for your query.

  • It identifies key semantic SEO terms that indicate how well your content covers the relevant topics.

  • Adding these suggested semantic words improves your topic score and boosts SEO ranking value.

How to Optimize Content Using the Topic Score:

  1. Optimize Tab:

    • After writing your content, go to the “Optimize” tab to start improving your score.

    • At the top, a green half-circle displays your current content score.

    • Below, you’ll see the average competitor score—aim for at least 30% above this score, with 100% as the target.

  2. View Competitors:

    • Click “View Competitors” to see their scores and where your content ranks.

  3. SERP Metric View:

    • The numbers in bold show how many times you've used key terms in your document.

    • The gray numbers below show the average number of times those terms are used by your competitors.

Understanding and Using Topics:

  • The “Topics” section shows the number of times you’ve used a keyword compared to competitors.

  • Aim to match the average number of mentions from competitors on the right.

  1. Blacklist Irrelevant Topics:

    • If a topic seems irrelevant, click the “Blacklist” button to remove it from your score calculation.

  2. Types and Status of Topics:

    • Type: By default, set to “Long Tail,” showing semantic topics with two or more words.

    • Status Options:

      • Completed: Topics where you've matched the required number of mentions.

      • In Progress: Topics where you're close to hitting the required number of mentions.

      • Overuse: Topics flagged as overused, potentially leading to keyword stuffing.

      • Topic Gap: The most important—topics found in competitors’ content but missing from yours.

  3. Explore Topics:

    • Click “Explore Topics” to see topic mentions across search results and better understand your competitors.
